SECONDS- CAYUGA Duck eggs

SECONDS- BLACK - GREY - GREEN BLUE.  Surface scratches on black and grey exposing under layer.   Black or grey, all eggshells have a blue-green understone.  Green-blues may have grey blotchy appearance. Could be interesting in overall design.  Time to get crafty!  
Limited quantities when available; 2 eggs per order OR 1 of each colour.
(example 2 of black or 2 of grey or 1 black & 1 grey or 3 if ordering one of each colour ->).
ETCHING - Colour layers > Black (or charcoal to grey to green-blue to white.

Black duck eggs (Cayuga duck) are ideal eggs for etching. 2-3 layers of colour when starting from black. They average size: 2-2.5" = 5-6.35 cm. Colours vary throughout the season. Darkest at the beginning of the season. (see pic).
Eggshells have one small drilled hole, centred, on wide end bottom, blown-out, washed (no chemicals) & rinsed on outside shell --> cleaned, safely sanitized, rinsed on inside eggshell & air dried - will not effect dyes or other materials). Remove all wrap after recieving, inspect all eggshells, and PLEASE BE SURE TO ALLOW 24 -48 hours in house temperature before use. 
Any stains on eggshell will not effect dyes, dying process, or designs. They will disppear during process.  Although stains are not attractive to the eye, it is proof of the bloom on the duck eggshell which is an important element for dyes to adhere.  In order to serve you best, please specify the purpose OR craft intended for your purchase in the "additional notes" portion of your order.
